About the Group

Sajdhaj, Marriage Decorator Pvt. Ltd.(Sajdhaj), is a leading Décor organization from Central India. Sajdhaj was started by Manoj Yadav (Yadav) in the year 1985 and was earlier known as Suvidha. Yadav, the MD of this prestigious group was a magnate in the event management industry. He was admired as a prolific and voracious designer in the Décor industry, having an experience of more than three decades. He had exceptionally magnificent aesthetic considerations. Sajdhaj had redefined wedding décor in Central India and established unparalleled stance in the area. Hitherto, Sajdhaj Group had served more than 3,500 clients from mainly four states viz., Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat..............

Growing Significance of Décor

It had been a general practice in India that families don’t mind spending almost one-fifth of their disposable incomes on weddings and related events. In today’s modern era the positioning of décor in the marriages and other related events had witnessed a paradigm shift. It played a significantly important role in creating an ambience and enhancing the overall beauty of the event. The major areas of décor expertise of Sajdhaj were creative décor concepts, décor structures, floral décor, lighting décor, fabric décor, crystal décor and thematic décor. To execute them on a wide range, Sajdhaj required multiple vendors who could deliver expert services in different décor areas on various customer sites............

Simultaneous Wedding Décor Planning: A Challenge for Sajdhaj

In April 2011, Sajdhaj Marriage Décor had successfully executed one of its finest décor services at a premium wedding arrangement in Aamby valley, Mumbai. This event was witnessed by  many affluent guests from all segments of the society. The event was highly appreciated by all the attendees.

As a result, Sajdhaj was flooded with lots of bookings for the next wedding season. Mr. Shroff, a business tycoon based at Mumbai, Mr. Kapoor, a Venture Capitalist based at Jaipur and Mr. Parmar, a Diplomat based at Bhopal, were among the guests who attended the premium wedding at Aamby Valley...........

Sajdhaj developed a strategy to meet the challenge

As per their experience of décor planning, Sajdhaj’s team designed a blue print for the planning and execution of three simultaneous events at different locations. A team of 6 people were deployed to visit the venues in three different cities. All the required information was collected by the team through initial surveys. Now, Sajdhaj’s management realized that they needed three times more skilled workforce for the successful execution and implementation of the plans designed............

Vendor Development Process of Sajdhaj

The Vendor development process was done in five phases:

Phase I. Vendor Identification and Selection:

Identification and selection of vendors was the most exasperating task for the Sajdhaj team. The main constraint in this phase was time adherence and to find such vendors who can deliver their products and service on those four locations and above all their service quality should also be of premium range.............

Phase II Training Process

After selection of the Vendor firms, the second step was to train the people of the Vendor organization. Training was the most crucial phase in the whole process. For this process, they invited key resource persons from different domains. All the selected vendors from the three locations were invited to the base office of Sajdhaj Décor.............

Phase V: Implementation by the Partners

Sajdhaj designated two experienced members from the team to monitor and supervise each location at the Venue in the three cities i.e. Jaipur, Bhopal..............

Enhanced Market Position of Sajdhaj

With this kind of robust planning and continuous monitoring, Sajdhaj was able to develop a team of Vendors to deliver premium service quality at a low cost. This unique experience made Sajdhaj team more confident and aggressive to take bigger leaps in the décor industry............

Assignment Question

I. Was it a right decision for Sajdhaj to take the risk of managing events at three different locations at the same time?
