Prakash Automobile Repair Shop, located in Noida (India) offered repair and maintenance services to varied automobiles like cars, bikes, auto rickshaws and vans. The owner of the repair shop Prakash Jain (Prakash), was an experienced professional but a budding entrepreneur.

Prakash had joined Maruti Suzuki, a leading automobile company, in 2010, after completing his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from one of the premier engineering colleges in New Delhi. Within 3 years in Maruti he had acquired enough knowledge in repair and services. Though he was promoted and appointed as a Deputy Manager at a service centre at New Delhi, he had a long cherished dream to be an entrepreneur. With the capital borrowed from his father, friends and relatives, Prakash, with lot of confidence on his skills and experience, had setup a store in Noida. The shop was located in one of the busiest locations in the city. Prakash, recruited three mechanics based on the criteria like sound technical knowledge, physical fitness and positive attitude towards work..............

Synopsis

This caselet is meant for learners pursuing course in Operations Management. The caselet helps to understand the concept – Sequencing, through the dilemma faced by Prakash Jain (Prakash), the owner of Prakash Automobile Repair Shop.
