Their job for the next three months was to assess and map the current scenario of Career Management practices at various locations of ABC Auto, Identify best practices within and externally and finally recommend a framework to manage the career of employees in line with their aspirations..............

To start with, they first went through reports of various studies (Exhibit III (a) and Exhibit III (b)) in the last three years. The great places to work had rated ‘Career Opportunities@ABC Autos’ well below the industry average Top 50. An annual Employee Engagement survey was undertaken by the central HR team, whose three years average scores also pointed out..............

The Challenge Ahead
Manohar was left with more questions in mind than before when the team presented their final recommendation after three months of detailed study. “What would happen to the existing job rotation and T&D practices? How to implement this, if at all I decide to follow the same? To create such a system is a big challenge, but a bigger concern is its sustenance once it becomes reality..............
