Hyderabad-based Cosmo Construction Company is one of the known real estate companies in Andhra Pradesh, India, dealing regularly in civil works like construction of bridges, roads, etc., apart from house/apartment construction. Since its inception in 1998, the company had undertaken numerous projects across Andhra Pradesh. In the 15 years of its operations the company had a record of always meeting its deadlines and no litigations with any of its clients.

However, the Founder-CEO of the company found to his dismay that the past success was not getting converted into new and substantial sales. One of the yardsticks for any construction company is the closure of sales (of all the availabe plots/apartments), i.e. how quickly the sales happen from the project announcement............

Synopsis

This caselet enables understanding of the application of Testing Hypothesis. Cosmo Construction Company, an upcoming construction company in Hyderabad, India, having successfully executed a few landmark projects, decided to expand. But its past success was not yielding any substantial increase in its customerbase. Having conducted the surveys to guage a new promotional offer, the Founder-CEO wants to know if the resulting hypothesis is correct. The caselet attempts to discuss how to infer the results of testing hypothesis.
