The Meaning of Success

1. How many of you want to be successful? Do you agree with the opinion of the accompanying article’s author that, “Only 1% of you may go on to fulfil your aspiration of becoming a CEO of a large company or leading a successful startup!” Support your argument with valid reasons.

2. What do you mean by success? How do you measure it? Is it static/dynamic or a moving target? Is it in being successful in lifestyle or in being successful in legacy?

3. Once, while addressing a gathering of youngsters from premier B-schools, the author of the accompanying article asked, “You worked very hard to get here. However, do you still have that passion, drive, dreams, determination and a huge appetite to learn what brought you here?” There is an often quoted criticism that the graduates from the best B-schools or country for that matter hit the deck at a very young age because they seem to suffer from the legacy conundrum.
Do you agree with this? If yes, why? If no, why not?

4. ................

Platforms of Preparation

1. Can intrapreneurship be nurtured in building successful people in an organization?

2. While sharing his ideas on success, the author of the accompanying article says, “To get to your dreams you need to learn to create magic “outside the boundaries of logic and reason” and not be trapped within”. How do you create this magic?

3. Out of the three qualities of success defined by the author – uniqueness, looking beyond distractions and conviction, which one does an individual develop first and why?

• The class was asked to assume that presently they are in position ‘A’ and position ‘B’ is the state of being successful [Exhibit (TN)-I]. They were asked if they knew their respective position ‘B’s.
