Happiest Minds Keeping Customers Happy with Digitized, Monetized Content

 powered by IBM Public Cloud

Digital technologies are creating a sea change in the ways people find, consume, and share content.

New capabilities are arising every day that were unimaginable a few short years ago. Today, you can download and read a bestselling novel instantly on your phone, click through interactive charts in an online newspaper, or listen to a live podcast during your evening commute.
When Ashok Soota started Happiest Minds in 2011, he foresaw the power of digital technologies to transform and modernize companies and the world. It was (and is) our intention to lead the way in creating new digital solutions and services that bring that potential to life—and to keep our customers and employees happy in the process.
New content offerings, new revenue streams
One of our first digital solutions, the Digital Content Monetization (DCM) platform, exemplifies how we have brought our original vision to life. DCM is a software as a service (SaaS) platform that helps organizations digitize and monetize their traditional content, delivering it to their customers, partners, and users in new and highly engaging ways.
Some of DCM’s built-in features include, but are not limited to the following:
•    A digital user portal with intuitive features like real-time polling, interactive charts, snipping, social sharing, audio-visual content, and AI and machine-learning-powered knowledge bots
•    Dashboards with real-time insights and analytics into user behavior and content consumption
•    Business process automation with system integrations and the ability to co-create new digital products and go to market faster
•    A host of other capabilities that transform the customer experience and generate new exponential revenue streams.
DCM comes with consumption-based pricing, the benefits of which have been seen by our clients over the years. As a SaaS solution, it requires no major capex, hardware investment, or infrastructure/software management overhead. Clients can get onboarded and take the new digital offerings to market in an accelerated method.
Fully powered by IBM Cloud
Our DCM platform is built entirely on IBM Cloud. The implementation includes IBM Cloud Foundry, IBM Cloud Object Storage, and IBM Cloud database solutions. We initially chose IBM for its platform as a service (PaaS) capabilities, which were second to none. In fact, the array of IBM infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and PaaS services that power our SaaS platform has eliminated the need for an infrastructure operations team to support it.
One of the greatest advantages of our IBM Cloud Foundry implementation is that it enables us to build apps quickly on a microservices architecture, which provides auto-scalability, flexibility, and independence in services and feature development. IBM provides state-of-the-art databases, search engines, and AI and machine-learning capabilities (with Watson). This, in turn, allows us to bring products to market faster. If your products or services have 10 users today and then 1,000 tomorrow, the system must be able to automatically handle the increase in traffic with no lag or downtime. Downtime means lost business for us and for our customers. 24x7 availability is a must.
We view IBM as our long-term partner in this and other engagements throughout the company. Over the last few years, the IBM team has worked diligently to solidify the DCM IT infrastructure and security and business continuity capabilities. As a result, today, we have a highly available, security-rich, stable cloud environment that provides a great digital experience.
Happy results, happy customers
Our customers’ satisfaction speaks for itself in the results they’ve achieved with DCM, and we consider IBM Cloud to be a major contributor to that success. Based on feedback from global market research analyst firms using our platform over the last four years, they’ve seen significant growth in key areas: 10% in new customers, 20% in customer renewals, 25% in sales, 20% in revenue growth, and 25% in new products and features year-on-year.
We’re currently exploring additional IBM Cloud solutions, including the AI capabilities of IBM Watson. Embracing the latest capabilities IBM brings to the table helps us keep ahead of the technology curve while enhancing our customers’ experience and our developers’ ability to be agile. IBM has been phenomenal with its support and technical leadership over the years and we’re looking forward to continuing to work together to create meaningful and worthwhile customer experiences.

Abstract

“Happiest Minds was looking for a cloud platform which offers a wide range of services to develop and host their multi-tenant Managed Content as a Service application. With the help of IBM Public Cloud, they have been able to develop a SaaS-based digital content platform helping customers globally effectively solve the challenge of content consumption by digitizing, modernizing and creating newer revenue streams. IBM Public Cloud helps the platform to scale, manage traffic during peak consumption time, offer secure services, client on-boarding and access to various applications. With their Managed Content as a Service application built on IBM Cloud they’ve seen a significant growth in key areas: 10% in new customers, 20% in customer renewals, 25% in sales, 20% in revenue growth, and 25% in new products and features year-on-year."
